Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to request the following information:

 

1.     Since 1st January 2022 how many staff have been given permission to work remotely outside of the UK?

2.     Please provide a list of each unique approval detailing; country, job title of the individual concerned and length of time spent working outside of the UK.

3.     Are there any additional associated costs created by staff working outside of the UK. Please provide a breakdown of these costs and the total spent since 1st January 2022.

Thank you for your request dated 27th November 2023.

 

Since 1st January 2022 how many staff have been given permission to work remotely outside of the UK? 

Nine employees have been authorised to work remotely outside the UK from 1 January 2022 – 31 December 2023.

 

Please provide a list of each unique approval detailing; country, job title of the individual concerned and length of time spent working outside of the UK. 

Due to the small number of returns, we cannot provide the job title as it could be used to identify the employee.  However please see further information below:

 

Country – Time Spent abroad (working days) 

Eire – Approx 32 days over 24 month period

Luxembourg – 11 days – two episodes

India – 30 days – over 24 month period

Slovakia – 20 days – one episode

Egypt – 10 – one episode

Australia – 10 days – two episodes

Nigeria – 10 days – one episode

France – 5 months – one episode

Isle of Man – 5 days – two episodes

 

Are there any additional associated costs created by staff working outside of the UK. Please provide a breakdown of these costs and the total spent since 1st January 2022. 

Where employees have been authorised to work remotely outside of the UK, it has been at their own cost and expense.
