What surveillance monitoring of any is undertaken in Wales to assess Lead Exposure in Children?
If this is undertaken please supply the latest Annual Report?
If surveillance is not carried out in Wales when was this last discussed and what are the reasons it is not carried out?

Thank you for your request dated 29th November 2023.
There is no routine screening of healthy children for lead exposure in Wales. This is consistent with the rest of the UK and with the view of the UK National Screening Committee

Routine screening would produce surveillance data.
In Public Health Wales, we do carry out surveillance on the results of children’s blood lead tests that have been requested by health professionals for their patients. However, we do not have an Annual Report summarising these data.
